Mary was born in the year 2005 and her mother died in the year 2004 as a result of HIV/AIDS complications. She was left with her father who stayed with her till the year 2007 when she was sexually abused by her father. The father was also HIV positive but luckily Mary was not infected.
Thika district hospital and the officials from the children’s department brought the child to CRC for Rescue. The father was arrested and still in custody in his death bed.
Now Mary is a happy girl going to school healthy living and always with a big smile. She like the company of the CRC Director Mr. Nelson whom she adores so much.

In his first days he used to cry a lot but as days went by he became a big boy always smiling with big eyes. He is now a strong boy and enjoys the company of all people and also loves singing Dutch songs.
Next year Lewis joins school which he loves most.
Joseph Mwangi
March 28th, 2009
Joseph and his brother Patrick Githiora, Rose Njeri, were abandoned together by their mother in a place called Ngoingwa in the outskirts of Thika town few days after the father was arrested and put to jail. They were left with no one to take care of them for almost a month where they stayed in a shanty house which was in ruins without food and care.
A Good Samaritan noted the situation and reported the matter to Thika children’s office .
CRC management was called for a rescue mission which they did without any hesitation. Mwangi has the brightest smile of all, charming and loved by everyone. Mwangi joins school next year 2008.

Grisson Mucuni (11-11-2000)
March 28th, 2009
Together with his two sisters, Dorcas and Beth, and his brother Paul, Grisson was one of the first children taken in by CRC. CRC had tot take them in, because their mother was terminally ill and couldn’t take care of her children anymore. Unfortunately their mother died on 27 September 2005. Their father already passed away some years ago. Grisson experienced a lot of hardship when living in the slums.
In CRC Grisson is pretending to make pies out of sand, pencils or whatever he finds. He is living life with a semi- permanent smile on his face.
