About CRCI
Child Rescuing Centre International
Child Rescueing Centre International is a non-governmental organization that operates in Kenya. Our mission is to rescue the less fortunate children, like orphans, street children, abused children and children infected and affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. CRCI is offering help to those children by providing them food, shelter, medical attention and schooling. Growing up in an environment with hope and love, the children are given an opportunity to a good future like every child should have.
Vision of CRC
To rescue and to give out basic needs, love, hope and education to less fortunate children.
Mission of CRC
CRC wants to lay a firm foundation for abused, neglected and abandoned children by providing basic needs like: food, shelter, medical attention and schooling so that they can live like normal children, because we believe that every child deserves a chance!

Location
CRCI and their orphanage are based in Mugoga, a small village near Thika Town and 45 km away from Nairobi. The orphanage is a place of peace and quietness and surrounded with a big wall. The location is perfect for the children; it’s not only a great place to play, but it is also very near to the children’s school.
History
2004: The history of CRCI begins in 2004, when Nelson N’dungu decided to do something about the children who were living in real poor circumstances in Thika. These children were about to live on the streets or were already staying there. Nelson N’dungu founded together with people, who shared the same idea, the children’s home CRC. After many difficulties and challenges, where a lot of persons of the original foundation quitted, the remaining members of CRC rented a house in Makongeni for sheltering desperate children. In late 2004 two dutch ladies came to work as volunteers and they meanted a great deal for CRC.
2005: In early 2005 the number of children staying in the house in Makongeni was too high and CRC moved to Kenya Tanning Extract, a secured area near Thika Town. In the same year Aafje Rietveld bought a big plot in Mugoga, where they would built the current orphanage in the next following years. CRC became an international N.G.O. under the name Child Rescueing Centre International.
2009: The orphanage in Muguga is finished and the children moved in January 2009 into their new home.
